In a River the Color of Lead is an exhibition of new paintings by Minneapolis-based artist Preston Palmer.
Inspired by 17th-century Dutch Vanitas paintings, Palmer wanted to create a deeply personal body of work. He uses a variety of symbolic objects and imagery to evoke memories of the past and foreshadow an unknown future.
With this series of paintings, Palmer aims to confront both himself and his audience with the complexities of emotion and the human experience, capturing moments of vulnerability and discomfort in a stark and visceral way.
Join us at Holland Arts East Gallery on August 15th from 6pm to 8pm for the opening reception. Artwork will be available to view Mon-Fri from 7am to 5pm and Sat-Sun from 8am to 5pm from August 8th to August 29th.
